First trip to Langkawi

We nearly didn't make it for this trip. This trip was arranged about 6 months back when Air Asia had the RM0.99 per ticket promotion. At that time, I decided to book 4 tickets - my parents, CH and me.

On the eve before we left, Dad called to say he was not well. He was having some stomach problem and seems to be passing blood. This really made me very worried. I told him, if you can't go, just forget it we can go another time. Mum pestered him to see a doctor. He went, and doctor gave him the green light to go with some medication. Orite!!
The trip from LCCT to Langkawi was a pleasant one. Boarding on the Airbus 320 (from the pic), it was new, clean and you can feel the plane's got power. We arrived Langkawi and rented a car. Went for lunch and did some shopping before checking in to the hotel. Liquor and cigarettes are really cheap. But, too bad, I don't really like to drink. Instead, I attacked the chocolates . I love the Sports Ritter brand. Too bad they did not have Hanuta, that would have been better.

We were there for 3d2n, not much of a time too. It was more of 2d2n. We did not engage in any water activity because of Dad's condition, as he was on medication. Instead we just went to the Underwater World which was I would say well maintained and impressive. From the outside it looks rather small, but when inside it seems much bigger. Besides that, we just took the car and went sightseeing round the island at our own pace. You know, the old folks can't take the rushing here and there. hehehe...

Anyway, I would love to go back there again to visit other places like the Pulau Payar Marine Park. It's such a peaceful place, the cars there don't drive like crazy drivers in the city. Dad is itching to go fishing there. There are lots of fishing spots as well. Lots of haruan according to an owner of a fishing tackle shop. We even spotted one kopitiam selling sang yee pau (ikan haruan pau). Too bad we didn't have the time to taste one of those.
