What a scare...

It was a nice weekend back at the kampung. As usual, Lux would crawl into her carrier by herself for our trip back. It seems to be a natural thing for her now if her favourite blue cloth is inside there :) This trip, Lux was such a good girl. Just quietly enjoying her ride home, only doing her scratching claw business once throughout the journey unlike previous trips home where she was practically annoyed throughout the journey.

We reached home around 8 pm yesterday night, and the poor thing was quite tired from the trip. Immediately I let her out of her carrier and she hopped back into her cage and started eating the hay vigourously. I guess she must be very hungry. After a few hours I noticed, there was no poo or pee from her, and started to get worried but she was still busy enjoying her hay. I begin to wonder, all the eating and no poo? This doesn't look too good. Before I went to bed around midnight, I checked on her again, finished her hay and I had to put in more hay for her, but still no poo. I was getting very worried, I tried feeling her tummy to see whether it was bloated, cause that's what happened to Max previously (Max and Lux came together to my new home previously). Her tummy seems ok, not bloated at all. I decided to go to bed, but couldn't really sleep because of this. I woke up some time around 3 am to check on her. Any poo? Only 2!! Then I stroked her, and she just enjoyed the company and wanted to play. I was thinking to myself, are you ok or not?

Went back to sleep, and woke up around 6+ am, this time I heard some poo sound from the cage, and I felt relieved. I let her out for her usual morning run, and she was so happy running around and that was really a relief. Silly me, getting all worked out over this. Here's Lux, (these pictures were taken about 2 hours ago) feeling happy and relaxed, and posing for me :)
Feeling so lazy after dinner

Mummy, am I pretty or am I naughty? ;)

Some recent poses, starring Lux the bun

Here are a few recent photos taken of Lux in different poses which I thought I would like to share just for general viewing. Enjoy :)

Am not looking at the camera this time, oh come on, give me some privacy pleeease... No lenses allowed!!

Am trying to blend with my carrier's colour, see our colours do match :) Am not hiding ok??

Aww... my favourite blue shirt accompanying me in my nap. Feels so nice.

Who said bunnies don't need a blanky to keep warm? It's kinda cold these days.

Oh mummy, I love this carrot, I am well behaved and should get a bigger piece than that.

Now look here, I am the leader of this area, all of you have to shower me with my favourite show rabbit pellet and unlimited supply of western timothy hay, I only accept the ones from oxbow, hehehehe...

Molting season is back

I could still remember when Lux had her first molt which was back in Feb, I didn't know what it was and was wondering, why was she shedding fur like nobody's business, hahaha... Lux baby, that goes to show how lack of knowledge your mummy is in bringing you up :). I first heard the term "molting" from my friend Mei Leng when I told her about Lux shedding lots of fur. She recommended me the furminator, but this product is not found in Malaysia. I remembered we took Lux back to the kampung during CNY and my mum was complaining so much fur flying all over the place. Sorry mum, Lux just couldn't help it :P

This time round, I decided to make an effort to be more prepared for the molting season. I asked my friend Tim, what should I use and he suggested a slicker brush. Uh, I was like, what is a slicker brush ah?, hahaha another terminology that baffled me. Haha, how embarrassing, I never even groom Lux baby to be honest. And I dunno how do you actually groom your bun, cause all this while, I thought Lux baby's fur was nice looking, how silly, LOL. I went to Pet Lover at Sunway Pyramid last Sunday and decided to invest in a slicker brush. Here you go, that's how it looks like.

I bought the brush and went home. Was so eager to start my grooming or brushing session with Lux. It was still bright in the afternoon, say around 3pm+ and Lux was in her usual sleepy mode at that time. I went to her with the brush and started brushing her. Oh dear, she was mad at me. In her half awake look, she thumped her foot in protest, like saying, "Mum, do you mind, it's my nap time now!! Stop messing my fur". I was like "oops, sorry baby, got you at the wrong time".

I delayed my attempt till evening after her meals and started working on her with the brush. This time she just lied quietly and let me do the job. Got lots of fur brushed out. Been doing this for a few days, to prevent her from eating too much of her own fur which can be fatal. Here's her look after lots of brushing. Looks messy still. Anyway, you'll have nice new fur when all this is over :)
Do I look better now or what?? This brushing thingy is very annoying ... :)
